Zooey Deschanel is known for her quirky beauty and ability to change her look and persona in an instant. She first got our attention in the film Mumford and has since gone on to playing the older stewardess sister in Almost Famous and the goth makeup-counter attendant in The Good Girl. She is the vintage darling of the fashion world with her flapper-era sense of style. Zooey herself admits her love for vintage clothing in a recent article, “I love old music, old movies, screwball comedies, vintage clothes, and basically I’m an old-fashioned gal.”

This weekend Shayne and I are finally going to see Up In The Air and go out to dinner. I’ll be updating the shop over the weekend as well. I’ll be trying my hand at making parisian macarons and finding a home for all of my magazine/catalog tearouts in a blank journal. Whatever your plans are I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Hopeless is a couture lingerie company owned and operated by sisters Gabrielle and Dominique Adamidis. All of their pieces are designed and handmade in Melbourne, Australia, using pure silk and other natural fabrics. Inspired by feminine beauties of all eras, each piece is designed to evoke the feeling of being in a faraway dream world. The new collection The Voyage is available in the Hopeless etsy shop now.
This week’s interior belongs to Melissa of Super*Junk. Her condo is a great example of mixing old and new pieces. Take a look at that gorgeous hutch/dresser!

Shayne made this turkey chili on Sunday. It was so good I had to share the recipe.

Turkey Chili
• 1-¼ lb. ground turkey
• 2 Tbsp. olive oil
• 1 medium red onion, chopped
• 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
• 1 16oz. can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
• 1 16oz. can black beans, drained and rinsed
• 1 Cup water
• 1 28oz. can crushed tomatoes
• 1 28oz. can diced tomatoes
• 1 Tbsp. salt
• 2 tsp. ground black pepper
• 2 tsp. dried oregano
• 2 Tbsp. chili powder
• 1 Tbsp. paprika
• 1 tsp. ground cayenne pepper
• 3 Tbsp. ground cumin
• 1 Tbsp. sugar
• 1 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
• Light sour cream
1. Brown ground turkey in large pot over medium heat.
2. Add olive oil, onion, garlic and salt and sauté until soft.
3. Stir in water, tomatoes, beans, black pepper, oregano, chili powder, paprika, cumin, sugar and balsamic vinegar. Heat on medium-high until simmering.
4. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes.
5. Uncover and continue to simmer for 20 minutes.
6. Add cayenne pepper and simmer for an additional 10 minutes or until thickened. Adjust seasoning to taste.
7. Ladle into bowls and top with a dollop of sour cream.
Serves 6-8.
Last week I joined the flickr group bloganistas. The idea is to take a picture of one outfit weekly and prove that as bloggers we don’t wear yoga and sweat pants all day everyday. If you are a blogger please play along!

Heading to the post office, thrift store and dinner last week. Yes, I’m freezing and put my coat on right after the picture was taken:) Later in the day I painted my nails with Essie’s Mint Candy Apple. I love it and it matches my typewriter!
